Stuart kindly rescued us as we were let down by another company at the last minute.. the tour was concise & educational and any questions were answered. Stuart kept it informative but not too heavy with a mix of humour thrown in.  Quite converted me to “walking tours”

City and University Tours

Take a stroll through the city of dreaming spires with one of our experienced guides.  Our daily walking tours will take you into one of the oldest University colleges, exploring the historic dining hall, chapel, cloisters and quadrangles.[1]  Discover the Bodleian Libraries, the iconic Radcliffe Camera, and the original University Church of St. Mary’s.

Learn about the complicated and sometimes bloody rivalry between the city and the University, spanning over a thousand years.  Your guide will explain the collegiate system of tutorials unique to Oxford and Cambridge, and the peculiar traditions, pranks and rituals that define student life.  Stories highlight literary giants such as J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Lewis Carroll, and bring you to many of the sites used for filming in Harry Potter, Inspector Morse, and Lewis.

Tours last 1½ hours and run daily, every hour from 11am–4pm (3pm in Winter).

We had a amazing tour today with Chris. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Oxford and it’s university. Even the rainy weather didn’t detract from our enjoyment.

A very entertaining and informative experience; an excellent way to see Oxford and learn about it’s history.

Whether you are in your twenties or fifties Stuart certainly fires up your enthusiasm for all things good in oxford. The walking tour takes in superb colleges and he delivers his talk and tour with great knowledge, humour and enthusiasm. Loved it.
